Starting a Consulting Practice – Lessons Learned

For our final Expert Forum this fall, we will discuss the journey of one consultant as he built his consulting practice. In our Forum, we’ll reflect on the start-up process and highlight the decisions and actions that accelerated the success of a consulting practice. We’ll also look at both mistakes in the start-up process and their consequences.

Our guest for this Forum is Don Moseley, CEO of Next Generation Human Capital (NGHC), a consultancy that Don has successfully founded and grown.

Don has held both HR executive and Chief HR officer roles for global public and PE-backed companies. In these roles, he partnered with clients to optimize the deployment of human capital as a competitive advantage in high-growth and transformative environments. At Cardinal Health, he held multiple HR leadership roles, such as the VP of Global Talent management and Global HR Business Partner. Don was also the Chief HR Officer at Nortek.

Don possesses in-depth knowledge across all HR areas, and was at the forefront of early HR transformation, helping companies automate the HR processes and building HR systems, data, and analytics capabilities. In his NGHC practice, he helps companies align and integrate their human capital strategy with the business strategy during times of rapid growth, restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions.

Don has a BA in Psychology from Augustana College and holds an MBA from Lake Forrest. He also holds Executive Education certificates from Harvard and MIT.
