One of the most hotly discussed and debated topics in human capital is the role of culture in both driving business performance as well as engaging employees. There’s a solid body of research that shows companies who transform culture to align with strategy outperform companies who do not have a thoughtfully defined and aligned culture.

In this executive forum, we will unpack how the four pillars of cultural transformation – trust, time, transparency, and turnover – play a vital role in transforming organizational culture. Join us for practical insights and real-work examples as we break down the essentials of fostering a positive and adaptive workplace culture. Here are some questions we’ll discuss in the forum:

  • What is the role of culture in organizational performance? How might an operations leader think about culture differently than an HR leader?
  • How did you build your “4 T” framework for organizational culture?
  • What leadership behaviors or practices are most effective in building trust?
  • How do you balance being transparent with information with sharing sensitive information during cultural transformation?
  • Culture change takes time, so how can leaders communicate the benefits of culture transformation and motivate employees resistant to change?
  • Considering the impact of turnover on culture change, what are some best practices for leaders to manage transitions within teams?
  • All in all, what are some best practices and/or pitfalls in cultural transformation and in preparing an organization for change (organizational readiness)?
  • What did you learn at UTD that set you up for success, and what advice would you give current students on maximizing the program?
