In this executive forum, we will discuss the key considerations in choosing a career in consulting and building your practice.
First, we’ll discuss the drivers for exploring a career in consulting. Second, discuss how to leverage your capabilities to build a practice. Third, we’ll discuss utilizing networks to establish and grow your practice. Fourth, we’ll discuss how to evolve your practice based on client feedback.

- How do you match your skills/expertise to an organization’s needs?
- How do you ramp up a consulting practice?
- How do you leverage your existing network to launch your practice?
- How do you build new networks to expand your practice?
- How do you revise your offerings as your practice grows?
- What safety nets should you have while building your practice?
The guest for this executive forum is Stacey Givens, a project management expert, an organizational consultant, and a career coach passionate about elevating women of color as leaders in corporate spaces. After a 20-year career in project management, Stacey founded The Givens Consulting Group, LLC. to blend her passion for diversity and inclusion with her profession in project management. She coaches BIPOC women leaders and delivers professional development workshops for teams to lead with authenticity and build their social capital. Her DEI journey led her to join Diversity Crew as a Partner. She has been invited to speak on diversity, networking, and leadership to HR professionals, healthcare executives, and BIPOC women throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. A lifelong learner, Stacey earned her MBA, an Organizational Consulting Certificate, and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Portland State University, a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Certificate from Diversity Crew Institute, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
